The Los Angles Clippers are looking to bolster their roster during the stretch run of the season. One of the options they have looked at is Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose.

According to Chris Haynes of Yahoo Sports, the Clippers are one of the teams that have also checked in on Rose and have engaged in an “exploratory talk.”

The Los Angeles Lakers, Philadelphia 76ers and multiple teams with championship aspirations have expressed interest in trading for Detroit Pistons guard Derrick Rose, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Clippers have checked in on Rose as well, but it was more of a common exploratory talk, sources said.

Rose is having a very strong season for the Pistons with averages of 18.4 points, 2.4 rebounds and 5.8 assists in 38 appearances. He has come off the bench and has managed to produce those results in just 26.0 minutes per game.

The ability that Rose brings to the table to run pick-and-rolls and score in isolation would provide a boost to the bench of any team. For a contender like the Clippers who are seeking to compete with the Lakers, acquiring a player like Rose would help their efforts. It would be even more so the case given how the Lakers struggle to guard the point guard position.

It does seem to be interesting to think about where Derrick Rose would fit in the mix with the Clippers' scoring hierarchy. There probably wouldn't be enough shots to go around without taking away from some of the team's top-scoring options off the bench, particularly Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell.
