During the broadcast of Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Miami Heat and the Boston Celtics, basketball analyst Jalen Rose vented his thoughts on the Breonna Taylor case. Echoing the thoughts of most NBA players, Rose wants the cops arrested.
Before the broadcast went into a commercial break, Rose managed to slip “arrest the cop that murdered Breonna Taylor” smoothly.
NBA players have singled out the Taylor case during their series of protests in the bubble. As Rose said, NBA players want the police officers involved in the killing of Taylor to be put behind bars.
However, the police officer involved in the killing of Taylor was only indicted on first-degree wanton endangerment charges. The other two walked away scot-free as the district general said that their use of force was justified since it was Taylor's boyfriend who fired the first shot.
Protestors quickly flocked to the streets, slamming the verdict insufficient and unjust.
