The NBA has always had an excellent advertising campaign. Some of their best ads are released for Christmas and the full day of nationally televised basketball.

One clip that has stood out in particular is the Christmas Day advertisement that was released in 2011 on TNT.

The montage combines players from several eras of NBA greatness, ranging from Bill Russell’s 1950s Celtics to the unstoppable ’90s Bulls to the star-studded teams of the 21st century.

Over the Drew Holcombs and The Neighbors song “Live Forever,” an immaculate series of edited and photoshopped clips give us a glimpse of what it would look like if the icons of yesteryear could team up with the players that we watch today.

Before we could only dream of what it would look like to see players from the ’50s team up with our current favorites, but this commercial gives life to our NBA fantasy.

We see Kobe Bryant and Magic Johnson exiting the tunnel in the classic Lakers colors, Derrick Rose alongside Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, and Larry Bird driving and kicking to Ray Allen for an open 3.

The commercial does an amazing job of mixing and matching different generations to create a commercial that resonates with everybody watching. Whether you started watching the NBA when televisions were still in black and white, or just started, the commercial is sure to bring back pleasant memories of your favorite teams and players.
