The NBA rookies had their annual photo shoot on Sunday, and it was all fun and games as expected. What made it more colorful were the side activities among the rookies. Some were seen chatting with former teammates, some were dancing a bit here and there, and then there was the little 3-point shootout between Trae Young and Michael Porter Jr.

Porter had the last laugh as he sank seven straight 3s, while the Hawks rookie could only make six in a row.

Young was selected by the Dallas Mavericks with the fifth pick and immediately sent to the Atlanta Hawks for EuroLeague MVP Luca Doncic. Porter slid down to No. 14 overall and the Denver Nuggets, owing to injury concerns that frightened teams away from selecting him earlier.

Many believe that the Nuggets struck gold getting Porter so low, even though he just underwent a second back surgery. However, he feels confident now and claims to be “pain-free.”

Meanwhile, Young has always been known to have incredible range. Young has even been called the second coming of Warriors sharpshooter Steph Curry due to their range and playmaking. The 6-foot-11 Porter Jr. has been likened to Kevin Durant due to their offensive arsenal at their size.

We will see how Young and Porter shoot from 3 in real NBA games, but on this day it was Porter who took the crown.
