The Los Angeles Clippers traded long-time guard Lou Williams to the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday in exchange for two-time champion Rajon Rondo. The joke of the internet (of course there’s always going to be one) was the fact that Williams is now one mile away from Magic City—the same place that he reportedly went to buy lemon pepper chicken wings during an excused leave of absence from the NBA bubble last July. Jokes aside, this was one of the shocking news this trade deadline. The Clippers got their front general but to the expense of giving away their sixth man, who contributed for them throughout his tenure. It will be interesting to see if the gamble for Rondo was worth it but only time will eventually tell if this was so. At least for now, Williams can enjoy himself with some chicken wings in Magic City.
