New team, new sneakers. The Atlanta Hawks‘ new acquisition, Dwight Howard, spent the weekend promoting his new Peak DH2 sneakers in China.
The inspiration for the logo is the yin-yang philosophy of opposite forces, hence the upside-down reversed initials.
While Howard's new shoes have only been released in China, officials said they're working on a limited run for the United States.
The DH2 features the Hawks colors — red and white for home games and black and red for away games.
The inside of the tongue features a “BE GR8” memorial etched into the mesh tip.
Howard is one of the many NBA athletes that have switched to international outfitter brands, among the likes of Dwyane Wade (Li-Ning) and Klay Thompson (ANTA).
Peak has been making the rounds in recent years and their heavy color and prismatic designs have made them popular in league circles.
Some of Peak's athletes include: Tony Parker, George Hill, Chase Budinger, Anthony Morrow, Carl Landry, Miles Plumlee, Andrew Nicholson, Kyle Singler, Beno Udrih, and C.J. Watson.
