The Atlanta Hawks and Brooklyn Nets have partnered to make a headline trade just two weeks before the NBA Draft on June 20.

The Hawks are sending swingman Taurean Prince and a 2021 second-round pick to the Nets in exchange for Allen Crabbe, the No. 17 pick in this year's draft, and a protected first-rounder in 2020.

Atlanta now has three first-round picks in the upcoming draft (they already had pick No. 8 and pick No. 10), while moving Crabbe sheds $18 million in cap space and allows the Nets to pursue a second max salary slot.

According to ESPN NBA Insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Atlanta may try to package some of its picks in order to move into the top five of the draft:

Given that the Hawks are currently sitting at No. 8, they would likely want to move up at least two or three spots before considering any deal that would involve multiple first-rounders.

Still, landing in the top five would give Atlanta an excellent chance at landing Jarrett Culver or De'Andre Hunter, two players that would seem to fit well with the Hawks' young core of Trae Young, John Collins and Kevin Huerter.

The question is how much they would have to give up in order to leapfrog other teams ahead of them in the draft. Atlanta would certainly be more comfortable trading the eighth pick in order to move up now that it has the insurance policy of that No. 17 pick.

In any case, it seems likely that Atlanta would love to exit draft night having made multiple selections in the top 10.
