On the heels of their lights-out shooting performance in the NBA play-in win over the Charlotte Hornets, the Atlanta Hawks cooled off in their 24-point loss to the Miami Heat in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference first-round series.

The Hawks had lowlight shooting showings across the board in the contest, which included Trae Young finishing with a mere eight points scored. His 1-12 shooting outing was the worst of his NBA career to date.

On Young’s part, he sure is not throwing in the towel on his team after the blowout defeat to the Heat. In speaking during his post-game press conference, the All-Star guard offered his vote of confidence that the Hawks will “turn this around.”

“They got swept last year in the playoffs so they came out here with a different energy,” Young said. “Winning one game isn't the whole thing. … I'm very confident we're going to turn this around.”

From the 18 total turnovers to the 27.8 percent shooting mark from beyond the arc, it was quite the performance to forget from the Hawks.

Young and the Hawks will now look ahead to Game 2 of the series on Tuesday, where they will aim to avoid an early 2-0 deficit against the Heat. Overall, the Hawks have not lost two games in a row since early March.
