The Atlanta Hawks are having a season to forget in 2019-20, filled with locker room drama and a bevy of losses causing it.

Yet second-year point guard Trae Young is shooting his best shot at potential free agents, and this heave comes from 40 feet out:

“If you're not on a team right now where you feel like you can win now and win a championship now, why not be a part of what's going to be winning in the future and starting something now?” Young told Michael Scotto of Bleacher Report. “I think that's something that's exciting. We have exciting young pieces and a city that's excited about what we have going on and is going to be behind us. Why not be a part of that?”

Why would a free agent consider the Hawks? The same Hawks that have a 9-32 record halfway through the season? Two NBA agents explained just why:

“I love the young pieces they have,” one agent said. “I'm a big fan of Collins' game. I think with him and Trae and the young core they have, if they bring in the right veteran guys, they can be a strong team. They have the most money in free agency.”

“Every team that offers money would be considered,” said another. “An agent that says otherwise is just lying or stupid. They need to add quality veterans to help the young guys. Atlanta would be under consideration.”

The Hawks are slated to have the most money to spend on free agents in the summer of 2020 — a relatively dry class that could include the likes of Andre Drummond, DeMar DeRozan, Gordon Hayward, Hassan Whiteside, and others.

While Anthony Davis technically headlines the class, he's expected to re-sign with the Los Angeles Lakers, leaving the Hawks with those other options.

Should any of the aforementioned want to pair up with Ice Trae on the Hawks, the invitation has now been cordially delivered.
