Atlanta Hawks All-Star Trae Young just got hit with a $15,000 fine for making contact with a game official.

Yesterday, in a double-digit point loss to the Washington Wizards, Young softly collided with referee Ben Taylor after attempting a tough layup. Although it didn't seem to be malicious, Young received a technical foul.

Young responded to the fine on Twitter, telling the league to relax. His father, Ray, addressed the issue on Twitter as well, adding that Trae will not be harmed by the league cracking down on attempts to draw offensive fouls, which he has been infamous for doing frequently.

Young responded to the league's adjustment to calling offensive fouls, evoking the shooting slumps that several All-Stars are enduring so far this season. He has built up a strong reputation as someone who baits defenders into contact far too often, helping trigger the rule change. In June, he responded to a joke on Twitter about being the poster boy for the rule change.

The Hawks are 3-2 on the season so far, with Young posting team-leading averages of 24.2 points and 1o.o assists per game, as well as 1.2 steals. Atlanta is seeking a return to the Eastern Conference Finals with, currently, the same supporting cast around their star floor general. The Hawks are back in action this Saturday against Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers.
