Young missed just his second game of the season on Saturday against the Chicago Bulls after suffering an apparent ankle injury in the second quarter of Atlanta's game against the Milwaukee Bucks the day before.
The former University of Oklahoma star said after Friday's game that he was in a good deal of pain (via Chris Vivlamore of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution).
“I rolled it pretty bad,” Young said. “It hurts pretty bad right now but that’s to be expected. I came back here, got some treatment on it, iced it already.”
The 21-year-old sharpshooter did not travel with the team to Chicago, and it looks as though he could remain in Atlanta as the Hawks head to Orlando. However, he did promise the team he will work hard to get back as soon as possible.

The Hawks have been the worst team in the NBA, but Young has improved on a stellar rookie campaign. He is currently averaging 28.5 points, 4.3 rebounds and 8.3 assists while shooting 44.4 percent from the field, 36.8 percent from beyond the arc (on 9.3 attempts per game) and 84.5 percent from the free-throw line.
However, Young is still one of the worst individual defenders in the NBA. He ranks towards the bottom of the league in terms of defensive rating, per NBA.com. Of course, the Hawks are one of the worst defensive teams in basketball this season.
Atlanta will likely exhibit plenty of caution with Young moving forward.
