At 41 years old, Atlanta Hawks newcomer Vince Carter currently holds the record as the oldest active player in the league. However, this is not the only feat the 20-year veteran intends to achieve this season, as Carter is actually set to join the elite 25,000-point club of the NBA this year.

Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo! Sports explained how Carter, who has amassed a total of 24,868 points in his career, just needs another 132 to enter this exclusive club. The 6-foot-6 swingman is set to become only the 22nd player in the league's history to ever reach this career milestone. Carter will also be one of only four active players who are part of the illustrious list; the others being Dirk Nowitzki, LeBron James, and Carmelo Anthony. That's quite an elite company.

Over the past few years, Father Time has slowly been creeping in on the person who was regarded as half-man half-amazing. He has averaged below double-digits in scoring in each of the last four seasons, with last term being his career-low at just 5.4 points per contest.  Nevertheless, he was still able to tally 313 points in total last season, which is more than double the points he needs this year to reach 25,000.

Carter has, on several occasions, declared that he has no intentions of chasing a ring. However, it appears that becoming part of this exclusive club is something that he has set his sights on. We are all getting behind Carter here, as this coming season looks to be the Future Hall of Famer's swansong.
