Former Atlanta Hawks forward Mike Scott breathed a sigh of relief today after being cleared of a pending drug felony charge.

Scott and his brother Antonn was arrested in July 2015 after being stopped along I-85 where police found 35.2 grams of marijuana and 10.9 grams of MDMA aka Molly in his vehicle.

He faced up to 25 years in prison if convicted and has remained out of the NBA until the decision from his case was made.

Georgia's Bank County Superior Court Judge Currie Mingledorff II ruled in favor of Scott to suppress evidence against him and dismissed the case on grounds of racial profiling.

The judge also ruled that his vehicle was improperly searched along with insufficient evidence upon stopping the vehicle as well as improbable cause for arrest.

The Atlanta Hawks traded Scott to the Suns during the NBA's trade deadline in February, and he was ultimately released in lieu of his criminal case proceedings.

There still remains interest from a few NBA teams to sign Scott when he is able to make a return after the conclusion of his case.

Scott has a career average of 7.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game.
