After a long wait, the Boston Celtics just received the medical records from Kansas forward Josh Jackson, but the freshman has yet to work out with the team, according to ESPN Insider Chad Ford.

The team is still debating, but is reportedly leaning toward selecting Duke forward Jayson Tatum, who is a nearly identical athletic talent, with a longer wingspan and better touch from different areas on the floor.

A parallel report by Jake Fischer of Sports Illustrated explains to why Jackson hasn't worked out with the team, which was his belief that the Celtics wouldn't pick him with the No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, which they held prior to this week.

Following the picks swap with the Philadelphia 76ers, the 19-year-old was open to work out with the team, but it just didn't work out logistically, per Fischer.

Jackson though, has talked to Celtics president Danny Ainge and head coach Brad Stevens over the phone last week.

Projected at No. 4 overall to the Phoenix Suns, Jackson said that much of his misconduct allegations have “been blown out of proportion,” insisting teams know who he is.

Meanwhile, Tatum has been impressing all-around, and has been part of the Celtics video room sessions, watching tape of his college games and Boston's games from last year, looking for similarities within the systems.

Stevens reportedly values Tatum's versatility, being able to guard spots one-through-four, packaging that with an elite scoring ability.
