To say the Boston Celtics are excited about adding point guard Kemba Walker would be an understatement.

A Celtics executive says Walker is a “perfect fit” for what Boston is trying to do moving forward. The three-time All-Star, who isn't a high-maintenance player like Kyrie Irving, figures to co-exist with Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward and head coach Brad Stevens better than Irving did.

“He wanted to be in Boston and we’re beyond excited to have him,” the Celtics exec told Keith Smith of Real GM. “This guy never misses time. Loves being in the gym. Embraces the kids. It’s a perfect fit.”

Kemba Walker has already said a lot of positive things about Brown, Tatum, Hayward and Stevens.

Walker was with Tatum in Paris earlier this summer, during which the two talked about potentially playing together on the Celtics. At his introductory press conference with Boston, Walker said Tatum is just a good dude and played a big role in his decision to sign with the Celtics.

Walker and Stevens have always had mutual respect for each other. Now, they get to combine forces and try and lead the Celtics to the championship next season. Walker says having a good relationship with his coach is very important to him.

Brown and Hayward never seemed to connect with Kyrie Irving. Walker said last week Hayward is going to have a bounce-back season in 2019-20, while he described Brown as someone mature for his age.

Certainly, with all the talks this summer, Celtics fans are eager to see Walker make his Boston debut.
