Whether you're a young gun or an old dog, the spirit of April Fools never leaves you. Everyone gets the uncontrollable urge to pull a fast one on their friends during this day. Apparently, this includes professional basketball athletes, as shown by this prank by Ime Udoka and Grant Williams on the Boston Celtics.
Udoka, the Celtics head coach, decided to play a little trick with his player Grant Williams. According to Jay King, the player-coach tandem faked a fight during a team practice to see how everyone else would react. Well, the reaction was indeed hilarious… for everyone but Williams, that is. Ime Udoka and Grant Williams played an April Fools joke where they faked a fight with each other. Udoka said none of the other players stepped in to break it up. He said a few players later indicated they wanted to see Williams get his ass kicked 😂😂😂

Poor Grant Williams. The Celtics forward was the true victim of April Fools this time around, as it seemed like everyone wanted to see him get beat up by their coach. THEIR COACH!
In all seriousness, though, the Celtics' chemistry has been through the roof recently. This can be seen both on and off the court, as they seem to gel with each other quite well. Whether it's seamlessly executing their dangerous defensive schemes or bantering during the postgame interview, all the signs point to this team being incredibly close with each other.
That's a huge step up from the status of the Celtics earlier this season. They started off on the wrong foot, as they struggled to fight an identity under new coach Udoka. Passive-aggressive barbs were thrown around, and turmoil was slowly taking hold of the team. Luckily, Boston course-corrected, and they have plowed their way to the top seed in the Eastern Conference.
