Jaylen Brown is set to rake in a cool $22 million this season in the first year of his four-year extension with the Boston Celtics. Turns out, he could receive an extra $1.3 million bonus if his name will be among the players selected for the NBA All-Star Game.
According to Keith Smith of Yahoo Sports, the 24-year-old swingman tops the list of players with a special clause in their contracts, wherein they will receive incentives in their respective year-end paychecks if they reach a personal milestone. Brown's extra $1.3 million is the most lucrative this year, followed by Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant, who is set for $1 million.

The voting for the 2021 NBA All-Star Game opened on Thursday despite the cancellation of the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Brown's name, however, is still expected to garner enough votes. He actually received votes last year following his breakout fourth year in Beantown.
Brown has taken his game to an even higher level this season, notching career-highs of 27.1 points per game, 52.2 percent field goal shooting, and 44.1 percent three-point accuracy. He is also putting up 5.6 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.5 steals.
The University of California product has already achieved several records for the Celtics and is one of the early favorites for the Most Improved Player Award. Apart from the career-best numbers, Brown's value was more evident when he kept his team afloat during lengthy absences of his All-Star teammates Jayson Tatum and Kemba Walker.
The Celtics are off to a 10-7 start and they could technically have a third All-Star on the roster by next month in Jaylen Brown. Too bad the actual midseason spectacle won't happen this year.
