Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum appreciates all the fans who supported them in their Game 4 showdown with the Brooklyn Nets in TD Garden; however, he can't tolerate the latest dangerous behavior a Boston fan showed towards Kyrie Irving.

In his press conference after the Celtics' 141-126 loss to the Nets, Tatum addressed the incident in which a fan threw a water bottle at Irving while he was heading to the locker room. Simply put, the Boston star condemned the disrespectful behavior while expressing his belief that the organization and the NBA would take an action regarding the matter.

For what it's worth, according to the latest reports, the said Celtics fan who threw the bottle has already been arrested, per Tim Bontemps of ESPN. A spokesperson for TD garden also released a statement and highlighted the punishment waiting for the culprit.

“We have zero tolerance for violations of our guest code of conduct, and the guest is subject to a lifetime ban from TD Garden,” the statement reads.

Aside from Jayson Tatum, Kevin Durant also spoke out in length about the incident and slammed those rude fans who are disrespecting NBA players and putting them in danger. He highlighted that all athletes should be treated as humans and not circus animals–or just a mere form of entertainment.

“Fans got to grow up at some point. I know that being in the house for a year and a half with the pandemic got a lot of people on edge, got a lot of people stressed out, but when you come to these games, you have to realize these men are human. We are not animals, we are not in the circus. You coming to the game is not all about you as a fan,” Durant said after the Nets-Celtics game.

Indeed, it is not the first time players have encountered such terrible act. However, it also won't be the last if the NBA doesn't do something to prevent such acts from happening again.
