Kyrie Irving expressed the same frustration that the Boston Celtics' locker room has showed during the past week after going winless in their last four games, capped by a sizable 115-96 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday.

Celtics players met after this recent loss, and Irving was the first to admit the shaping of this team continues, even with time running out in the regular season:

“We’re trying to build great championship habits, and that takes time, and it takes a commitment,” said Irving, according to Tom Westerholm of MassLive. “Like I said, it starts with me, and I’ll do my best to keep communicating and get the best out of these guys, because they deserve it from me.

Yet Irving wasn't worried about how his team would respond in their upcoming game against the Cleveland Cavaliers, knowing there are better things ahead:

“I never worry about how we'll respond,” said Irving, according to Chris Forsberg of NBC Sports Boston. “We’ve proven that. We just have to be consistent with that and be committed to it, that's all. We have a lot of great guys in this locker room and they are committed to winning. We have winners in this locker room as well, so I'm never worried about trying to go back and respond with these guys.

“They are a resilient group who have proven that for the last year and a half we've been together. It hasn't been pretty all the time but we've always tried to find a way to figure it out and get the most out of each other. It starts with me and it trickles down to the rest of our leaders on this team. You just got to be committed and it starts with me.”

Boston has only eight games to gain any semblance of chemistry and togetherness before hitting the postseason. The Celtics will likely keep their No. 5 seed in the East, now two games behind the fourth-seeded Indiana Pacers after a woeful week.
