Despite having home-court advantage in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Sunday night, the Boston Celtics fell short to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who have now reached a fourth straight NBA Finals. It was a valiant effort by the Celtics pushing the Cavaliers to the limit.
According to Marc D'Amico of Celtics.com, LeBron James voiced high praise toward the performance in the playoffs from Celtics rookie forward Jayson Tatum.
Wow. High praise from LeBron on Jayson Tatum: "I just love everything about the kid. The way he plays the game. His demeanor. Where ie comes from. I just know he's built for stardom."

Tatum demonstrated with his play throughout the postseason that he is a promising talent that has a bright future ahead of him. His performance on the court as that of a more seasoned veteran as he quickly emerged as the Celtics' top scoring option the further along the playoffs rolled along.

The 20-year-old was a huge offensive spark plug averaging 18.2 points on 46.7 percent shooting from the field while notching double figures in all but two of the 18 games played. This includes scoring at least 20 points 10 times while pushing himself among the top scorers in playoff history for a rookie that saw him fall just one point short of passing Hall of Famer Kareem-Abdul-Jabbar for the all-time mark in a single postseason.
He has shown the unique ability on the floor to a reliable scoring option along with the poise that not many rookies before him have shown. This has been a huge part of why James is quite impressed by his play on the court that could see him quickly become a superstar in the league while being a cornerstone for the Celtics' long-term future that should keep them in the NBA title picture for several years down the line.
This now pushes forward plenty of expectations on Tatum's shoulders to fulfill becoming one of the top young rising stars in the league. Only time will tell if he can build off what was an impressive rookie campaign.
