Boston Celtics rookie Robert Williams has already made plenty of headlines, even before displaying his talent in the Summer League after he forgot his wallet and missed his flight on his way to Las Vegas.
On a positive note, the Texas A&M product has been unbothered by the bright lights that come with making the league and remains very close to his family, though that apparently is a scary factor for his agent, according to Tom Westerholm of MassLive.
“He's very, very, very family oriented. It scares his agent that he's like that,” said his sister, Bri Williams. “I've never seen a kid like this. When it comes to people like, ‘Oh, you're about to be in the NBA, you'll be able to get this or that,' the money and the fame? He doesn't care about that. As long as he can play basketball, he's okay. The only thing you can probably bribe him with and he'll be happy with it is food. That's it.”
Family influence could be great in order to keep a player grounded and true to his roots, but there has been cases in which family ties have proven an impediment to a successful NBA season.

Hopefully for Williams, this will be the kind of family tie that makes him as an NBA player, instead of straying him from the league.
