The Boston Celtics capped off a thoroughly embarrassing three-game road trip with a 109-102 loss to the Brooklyn Nets on Monday night, dropping them to 25-18 on the year.

Afterward, Celtics guard Terry Rozier acknowledged that Kyrie Irving lit into the team following their loss to the Orlando Magic on Saturday:

“Kyrie said a lot after the last game and it was probably stuff that people didn’t want to hear,” said Rozier, according to Vincent Goodwill of Yahoo Sports. “But it’s showing.”

Apparently, Irving's words rung hollow on Monday evening, as the Celtics went on to lose to the Nets in what was an overall half-hearted, sloppy effort that saw Boston behind by double digits for much of the second half.

Irving and Marcus Smart were both sideline  but the absence of the Celtics' starting guards was no excuse for their lackluster performance, which has become a running theme on the road this season.

Boston is just 10-13 away from TD Garden, a pretty big concern considering road woes were the biggest reason—aside from injuries—why the C's were not able to advance to the NBA Finals during last year's playoffs.

Not only that, but the Celtics are struggling against inferior teams this season, as they own a record of just 3-6 against the likes of the Orlando Magic, Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns, with two losses to the Magic under their belts.

Oddly enough, Boston owns an impressive 5-3 record against the Toronto Raptors, Milwaukee Bucks, Indiana Pacers and Philadelphia 76ers, adding to the bewilderment surrounding the C's this season.
