Science and the NBA are two things that do not go hand in hand very often. While many players in the NBA are intelligent and familiar with basic and complex scientific theories, there is bound to always be a deviant in that regard. In this particular scenario, this player is Boston Celtics guard Kyrie Irving, who happens to be a world champion and one of the best players in the NBA.
However, Irving apparently fails to understand one of the most rudimentary concepts taught to children in elementary school. Indeed, Irving believes that the Earth is flat. As surprising as it sounds, Irving has really been known for sharing this unique way of scientific thought.
Granted, people are entitled to their own beliefs. Though, the absence of knowledge is ignorance. The rejection of knowledge, however, is just pure foolishness.
Still, Irving thinks that 99 percent of the world's population is fooled into believing that a planet is round, go figure. He even was invited as a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show to discuss his ideology. Of course, he was indirectly ridiculed by Kimmel and his audience, probably unbeknownst to him.

In this segment, Irving explains why believes that the Earth is flat in his own way of thinking. But he also talks about other topics such as LeBron James and the NBA All-Star game. Irving is without a doubt an intelligent individual.
Though, it's clear to everyone now that he truly believes in his science. Everyone must understand that people are entitled to their own opinions, no matter how crazy they may sound.
