After working out with the Boston Celtics, potential number one pick Markelle Fultz has nothing but good words to say about the storied franchise. He recently visited their practice facility where he had a physical, before meeting with their staff, as well team president Danny Ainge.

The former Washington point guard admitted he already feels at home in Beantown, and also added, via ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, that he likes what he’s seen so far, including the food scene.

“It almost feels like I belong here.”

“My visit here was great. It was a good experience. First of all, I came here, did some medical stuff at the doctors, a physical. I went out to eat later that night [with Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge], that was a good experience just seeing the food culture here, got a good burger.”

With less than three weeks to go before the draft, it appears that the C’s are leaning towards selecting Fultz, as they believe he can thrive alongside their franchise player, Isaiah Thomas. Despite also playing the one spot in college, the 19-year-old also has the ability to play shooting guard. He has the talent to knock down jumpers, as well as drive to the basket, which would give the team another scoring weapon.

Fultz is the consensus choice for the top pick this year, and if the Celtics go on and select him, and add other key pieces to their already competitive lineup, they could very well give the Cleveland Cavaliers a run for their money.
