The Brooklyn Nets handed the Philadelphia 76ers a 20-point loss on Sunday, an effort led by Spencer Dinwiddie, who has taken the reins after Kyrie Irving went down to injury.

Following the end of the game, Sixers star Ben Simmons praised Dinwiddie:

“He's aggressive. He's very talented,” said Simmons, according to Anthony Puccio of NetsDaily. “He gets downhill, loves downhill… I love the way he plays, but he dominates.”

Looks like someone is easily buying into Dinwiddie bitcoin with those comments, but there is a lot of truth to Simmons' words. While Irving is the superior talent in terms of creativity, flair, and raw scoring punch, one could argue Dinwiddie is more adept at playing the point guard position.

The 6-foot-6 point man never looks hurried and manages the pace of the game with uncanny patience, never rushed or out of control. His reads in the half court are spot-on most of the time, finding his targets open and usually not in need to improvise as often as Irving.

The Nets were 4-7 before Irving hit the sidelines with a right shoulder injury. They've gone an impressive 10-5 with Dinwiddie as their floor general, and they're now back in the playoff picture despite missing two of their main stars in Irving and Kevin Durant.

Dinwiddie is averaging a career-high 21.0 points along with 6.2 assists per game this season, putting the Nets on his back while Irving recovers from his ailment. Sunday's 24-point, six-assist effort was just one of the many terrific performances Dinwiddie has put up in his 15 starts to keep the Nets afloat this season.
