When it comes to Brooklyn Nets small forward Joe Harris, the 2017-18 NBA season has been a pleasant surprise with his development as a player. With Harris set to become an unrestricted free agent this upcoming offseason, a recent article written by Michael Scotto of The Athletic revealed that the forward should get quite a bit of attention on the market.

“According to eight NBA executives, who spoke to The Athletic on the condition of anonymity, Harris could command anywhere from $4 million to $7 million annually this summer,” Scotto said.

Harris, who was signed by the Nets back in the summer of 2016, continues to be very impressive off the bench for Brooklyn this season. He has made 118 three-pointers this season and is shooting 41.1 percent from behind the arc.

“He shoots, plays hard, cuts, and moves well off the ball,” one Eastern Conference executive told The Athletic. “He’s really improved.”

Being a team player and sticking to his role is something that Harris is extremely important to him, regardless of the Nets' record.

“My job is to knock down shots, help create space on the floor, and by no means am I the go-to guy,” Harris said. “My role is to play tough defensively, and then help create space for all of our facilitators that we have, and to be opportunistic when there are striking opportunities.”

In 75 games this season for Brooklyn, Harris is averaging career highs across the board with 10.7 points on 48.6 percent shooting from the field, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in roughly 25.3 minutes of action per contest.
