Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant earned a $1 million bonus on Friday despite not playing a single game this 2019-20 campaign.
According to Bobby Marks of ESPN, Durant earned the bonus after the Nets clinched a playoff spot by defeating the Sacramento Kings at Walt Disney World.

Kevin Durant agreed to a four-year, $164.26 million contract with the Nets last summer. He was scheduled to make $37,199,000 in 2019-20, but it's unknown if he'll get that full amount after COVID-19 forced the season to get suspended in March.

Whenever the 2020-21 season starts, Durant will make $40,108,950 from the Nets. The two-time champion and two-time Finals MVP has career averages of 27.0 points, 7.1 rebounds and 4.1 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors.
The Nets were predicted to make the playoffs this season even without Durant playing since the team had Kyrie Irving, DeAndre Jordan, Spencer Dinwiddie, Caris LeVert, Joe Harris and Jarrett Allen. However, Irving only played in 20 games and underwent season-ending shoulder surgery, while Jordan and Dinwiddie were forced to sit out the restart due to COVID-19.
Brooklyn is expected to compete for a title next season with Durant and Irving back in the fold. It should be fun watching the Nets play in 2020-21 with everyone healthy and committed to winning a title.
