The Brooklyn Nets entered Saturday night's matchup against the Miami Heat on an appalling 10-game losing streak. Kevin Durant has been out of action for the Nets due to injury and there's no denying that all these losses are already getting to the former league MVP.
When asked about his team's skid, KD got brutally honest about the hole they've dug for themselves:
“We know we’re in some deep s–t. We understand that. … But with one win, things can change,” Durant said. via Brian Lewis of the New York Post.
KD is absolutely right about a single win having the ability to turn things around for the Nets but unfortunately for them, this wasn't the case on Saturday. The Nets made it 11 straight defeats after losing to the Heat, 115-111. A shorthanded Brooklyn side put up a valiant effort against one of the best teams in the NBA right now, but in the end, they came up short.
It goes without saying that the Nets would love to get KD back as soon as humanly possible, but at this point, it sounds like he's still not close to returning. Durant himself provided a rather concerning update on his road to recovery from an MCL sprain and he did say that the process has been “slow.” Things clearly aren't very peachy in Brooklyn right now.
