The whole city of New York has been eagerly waiting on Kevin Durant as the superstar slowly continues to recover and rehabilitate his ruptured Achilles tendon. Durant hasn't played on an NBA Game since he injured himself in Game 5 of the 2019 NBA Finals when his former team the Golden State Warriors were up against eventual champions the Toronto Raptors. In fact, KD hasn't even played a single game for the Nets and co-pilot Kyrie Irving but that might be changing sooner rather than later.

Though it's been a slow process, it seems as though all signs are pointing up as experts are weighing on the encouraging status of Durant's recovery.

“He’s not an old guy, 36, 37 towards the end of his career,” said Dr. Laith Jazrawi, chief of the division of sports medicine at NYU Langone Sports Health (via The NY Post). “I don’t think it’s like that in him. He’ll do just fine. I don’t see any issue to say he won’t be as good of a player as he was a year-and-a-half ago,”

A year and a half ago, Durant was crazy good.

Just before he played his last game for the Warriors, Durant was at the pinnacle of his career. In just 12 seasons in the league, the DC native has already been on 10 All-Star Teams, has won four scoring titles, a league MVP, two Finals MVPs and a couple of shiny NBA championship rings.

And, if indeed the 32-year old goes back to 100%, that's going to be scary news for the rest of the league.
