The Brooklyn Nets are looking to even their first-round playoff series against the Boston Celtics Wednesday night. The Nets came out highly aggressive and jumped out to an early 13-point lead. Of all players, it's been the Boston-area native Bruce Brown's 12 points that have led to Brooklyn's early lead.

Late in the first quarter, the Nets' embattled superstar Kyrie Irving left the court and headed to the locker room. It was not officially unknown why he left. Irving did not appear injured in any way.

The Nets star has openly spoken about his fasting because of his observance of Ramadan. It had been over 13 hours since the last time Irving was able to eat anything. The sun had just set, and it appears that Irving needed a bite to eat.

He quickly emerged from the locker room with a banana in hand. It's truly remarkable how well Irving has been able to play while not being fully nourished like most athletes.

As the rest of the first quarter wound down, the Nets continued to play well. If they had not turned the ball over so frequently, their lead might have grown even larger. Nevertheless, they still hold a double digit lead late in the first quarter in Boston. This is almost a must-win scenario for Brooklyn, as only seven percent of teams on 0-2 series holes come back to win.
