The Brooklyn Nets were dealt another tough blow on Tuesday night. For All-Star Kyrie Irving, that blow was quite literal.
The Nets guard took a massive blow from the elbow of Chicago Bulls big man Nikola Vucevic. Irving went down in a heap for several minutes after taking the inadvertent contact.

The good news for Nets fans is that there seem to be no signs of a concussion despite the horrific contact made to Irving's noggin. Coach Steve Nash confirmed this, via a report from The Athletic's Nets beat reporter Alex Schiffer.

Steve Nash said Kyrie Irving has no signs of a concussion. X-ray was inconclusive. Said the Nets need a further scan and he will likely get one in the morning.

Although the initial news is positive, there's still the possibility of some damage popping up from the scans still yet to be conducted. But Nets fans can only wait with bated breath as they hope it's nothing that keeps Kyrie Irving out for the NBA playoffs.
The injury to Irving comes at an ironic time for the Nets, as fellow superstar guard James Harden is set to return to the lineup within the next game or so. Just when you'd think Brooklyn would get some final season reps together with their core complete, they face even more untimely injuries.
Here's to hoping that the Nets guard makes it back to the court sooner rather than later.
