Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James was impressed that Brooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving was able to get a shot off against the Minnesota Timberwolves at the buzzer on Wednesday despite falling.
James, who played with Irving for three seasons on the Cleveland Cavaliers, says he's seen the Nets star lose his footing and still manage to get up and make the shot before:
LeBron James on Kyrie Irving's last shot in #Nets debut: "I think even with him losing his footing he still got a great look. That was more impressive than anything. I just hope these so-called basketball trainers say that was a real move."

LeBron James on Kyrie Irving's last-second shot: "I've seen him make that move many times. He tripped. The most impressive is that he still got up and got a great look." #Nets

Irving had a stellar debut for the Nets. The All-Star guard poured in 50 points. Unfortunately, Uncle Drew wasn't able to hit the shot at the end and the Nets fell to the Timberwolves by a final score of 127-126.
Irving has one of the best handles of all time and is an elite finisher at the rim. He averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 rebounds and 6.9 assists per game last season for the Boston Celtics while shooting 48.7 percent from the field, 40.1 percent from beyond the arc and 87.3 percent from the free-throw line.
Irving is replacing D’Angelo Russell as the Nets’ point guard. Kyrie made the All-NBA second team last season, is a six-time All-Star and won the 2016 championship with LeBron when the Cavs defeated the Golden State Warriors in seven games.
Kevin Durant is widely expected to miss the entire 2019-20 season recovering from his Achilles injury, so Brooklyn will go as far as Irving can take them this year.
