Brooklyn Nets superstar Kevin Durant has been fined $25k for using obscene language towards a fan in the Nets game against the Atlanta Hawks.
A fan of the Hawks was telling KD to stop crying and Durant responded with what seemed like he said “shut your a** up.” Although it is unclear to tell with Durant said, there was definitely some profanity in there and that is why he's being fined by the league. At the end of the day, the Nets got a win and $25k is pocket money for a guy like Durant.
Luckily for the Nets, he will not be suspended for any games as he is the reason why they have had so much success this season. On the year, Durant is averaging 28.5 points per game which leads the whole NBA. Brooklyn is 18-8 on the season but without Durant, they would not be anywhere near that type of record.
Article Continues BelowBrooklyn's game against the Hawks was choppy all game long as Trae Young and Kevin Durant were both given technicals early in the game. It is unclear what happened in that situation as both of them are reportedly good friends so it must have just been some friendly chirping.
Brooklyn will take on the Detroit Pistons on Sunday in a game that they should be able to walk away with a win with relatively easily. Durant is scheduled to play so expect him to do his usual thing by scoring nearly 30 points.
