Caris LeVert missed their first preseason game against the Washington Wizards on Sunday which understandably concerned Brooklyn Nets fans. Fortunately, according to head coach Steve Nash, the swingman is doing great and will participate in the team's scrimmage on Tuesday.

Nash, already aware of LeVert's injury history, shared his optimism on the 26-year-old's knee. To recall, he was listed out against the Wizards due to a patella contusion.

“Caris is great. He said his knee feels as good as it’s felt in a long time,” coach Steve Nash said Monday via Zoom, per Brian Lewis of the New York Post. “We’re going to probably scrimmage [Tuesday], and he’ll play. So, really positive news for Caris.”

Nash is still unsure whether he'll insert LeVert into the Nets' starting five. Though he's well-aware that LeVert should be a starter in this league and can therefore embrace a role similar to that of a Manu Ginobili.

Still, Nash isn't carving his plans on stone. He knows that injuries will be a part of the long season. As such, there will be no fixed rotation for LeVert or the entire Nets roster for that matter.

“I may not get the chance. I have a suspicion this is going to be a continually evolving season where injuries, COVID, the density of the schedule will present all types of opportunities, but not necessarily by design,” Nash said. “I don’t think it’s going to be like, ‘We’ll start Joe [Harris] for five games, then Spencer for five games, then Caris for five.’ I think it’s a scenario where we’re going to figure it out as we go.”

LeVert will be one of the critical players for the Nets this season. Here's to hoping that he stays healthy.
