Whenever the 2020-21 season starts, the Brooklyn Nets will be wearing their tie-dyed sky-blue throwback jerseys and star point guard Kyrie Irving is very excited about it.
Irving, who grew up a Nets fan as a kid, wants to bring the franchise back to the Finals while paying homage to some of the great Nets players who donned the slick tie-dyed sky-blue jerseys.
āUncle Drewā also talked about going to Nets games as a kid and dreaming about playing for the team one day.
āGrowing up a New Jersey Nets fan, especially in the tri-state area, it was a different pride you had to have,ā Kyrie Irving said in a video posted on team's Twitter about the tie-dyed sky-blue jerseys.
āI had that chip on my shoulder everywhere I went because I was that New Jersey kid. Sometimes in New York City or Philly or in D.C. or North Carolina and up the whole entire East Coast where it was big to rep where you were from and that was the attitude and mentality that I embodied and that went along with the Nets. I wanted to be like JKidd [Jason Kidd] growing up.
āThe motivation for me was I was gonna make sure that when the Nets get back to the Finals, Iām gonna be part of this team and weāre gonna be winning this.ā

The Nets will be title contenders next season with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving leading the way. The team is already the betting favorite to win the East by the oddsmakers.
Two-time MVP Steve Nash is Brooklyn's new head coach. He has a strong relationship with Durant, as the two worked together from 2016 to 2019 when KD was on the Golden State Warriors.
Nash has also already developed a rapport with Irving, who is one of the best guards in the league and can learn a lot from the Hall of Famer.
