The Philadelphia 76ers and the Brooklyn Nets have been the top story of the 2022 NBA Trade Deadline. Rumors and reports contradicted one another until a deal was finalized less than two hours before the deadline.

News of the trade broke just after 1 P.M. EST. The Nets received Ben Simmons, Seth Curry, Andre Drummond, and two first-round draft picks in exchange for James Harden and Paul Millsap. Simmons has wanted out of Philadelphia for months, but, now that he's gone, he only has a month before he has to go back to the City of Brotherly Love.

That's right, the deal was made the day of the trade deadline on February 10, and the Nets will travel to Philadelphia to take on the Sixers on March 10. Simmons will have to face the Sixers well before time can heal the wounds he has from his former team.

The Sixers have played the Nets three times this year. They lost the first two but pulled away with the win in the most recent matchup at the end of December.

Obviously, with the blockbuster trade, the teams will be completely different than they were in 2021. It will be interesting to see how Simmons gels with his new teammates and if he is willing to shoot the ball for Brooklyn. On the other hand, only time will tell how big man Joel Embiid and Harden will work together to create a championship-caliber team in Philadelphia.
