Following the surprise firing of Jason Kidd on Monday as head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, the team has opted to make another couple of moves on Tuesday, relieving both Tim Grgurich and Eric Hughes, assistant coaches with the Bucks, of their duties

Grgurich is a veteran assistant coach having the same role with the Denver Nuggets, Portland Trail Blazers and Seattle SuperSonics. He also was part of the coaching staff back in Kidd’s stint with the Phoenix Suns during his playing days, which shows how long they have been working together and explains their familiarity with each other. Grgurich also has experience in the NCAA as he served as head coach of his Alma Mater, the University of Pittsburgh, for five seasons in the late 1970s.

Hughes on the other hand has been an NBA assistant coach since 2009 when he was promoted back then with the Toronto Raptors. He used to be their basketball development consultant and was also director of summer player development for Goodwin Sports Management in Seattle, specializing in creating workout programs for some of the big names in the league today like Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard  and Al Horford, just to name a few.

It is still unknown who their replacements will be but the move only goes to show that the Bucks are ready to start fresh and move on from Kidd and his former staff. While it could work wonders for them, it may also be a huge challenge for their players as they will need to learn possibly a new system in the middle of the season if they plan to contend for one of the last playoff spots in the Eastern Conference.
