The lowly Chicago Bulls finally managed to snap their five-game losing streak with a thrilling 123-120 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. The Bulls have carried a largely depleted roster all year long thanks to tensions within the team, as well as the injury to guard Zach LaVine.

LaVine is still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered in February of last season before being traded to the Bulls for superstar Jimmy Butler. According to K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune, head coach Fred Hoiberg is still unsure of when the explosive guard will return to action:

“I’m sure we’ll start with half the practice and then continue to ramp up if he feels good. As far as what date we actually get him back, we don’t know that yet.”

Prior to his injury, LaVine was best known for his high-flying acrobatics. However, the fourth-year man out of UCLA has also proven to be a capable scorer after averaging 18.9 points a game on 45.9 percent shooting in 47 games last year.

Chicago could use a much-needed scoring punch outside of guard Justin Holliday as they currently rank 29th in the league in points per game (94.8). However, there is certainly no need to rush him back with the Bulls currently sitting at 3-10 and falling out of the playoff picture quickly.
