Chicago Bulls center Robin Lopez was thrown out of the game versus the Sacramento Kings Monday night after he continued to argue with officials regarding a non-call earlier in the game. Lopez’s anger had been building up for a couple of minutes and he finally exploded after he was called for a foul.

With 5:02 remaining in the second quarter, Lopez posted up his defender but was double and triple-teamed in the lane. After several pivot moves, Lopez threw up a wild shot expecting a foul to be called but there was no whistle to be heard.

He fell to the floor and started arguing with officials even after a basket was made on the other end. By the time the Bulls went back to their basket and his teammate Bobby Portis was fouled, Lopez was still fuming mad at the officials for not making a call during his last trip in the lane.

Later as Portis made both free throws, Lopez committed a defensive foul perhaps to continue arguing with the officials. This time, however, he was called for a technical foul and was soon ejected for continuing to argue with an official. He had to be restrained by teammates and staff, including coach Fred Hoiberg, just to escort him out of the court.

He was seen throwing a chair as he was headed to the locker room.

Chicago led Sacramento 55-41 at the half.

The Bulls are in the midst of a six-game losing streak and are already missing the services of leading scorer Lauri Markannen who stayed in the Windy City after his flight was delayed due to weather issues.

Losing Lopez for the game could extend that losing streak unless the other players step up in the absence of two of their key players.
