The Boston Celtics are just two games away from reaching the NBA Finals for the first time in nearly a decade after topping the Cleveland Cavaliers in the first two contests of the Eastern Conference Finals.

LeBron James hasn't been in a hole like this in quite some time outside of the Finals, as his streak of reaching seven straight NBA Finals is in possible jeopardy. Per Scott Souza of the MetroWest Daily News, Celtics second-year guard Jaylen Brown voiced that he's ready to snap that prestigious mark for James.

Boston has taken control of the series behind their collective on both ends of the floor that has caused many issues for the Cavaliers. Brown has played a major role in that, averaging 23.0 points on 52.9 percent shooting from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc with 7.0 rebounds. This includes scoring at least 23 points and nailing three 3-pointers in each contest.

James has experienced individual success on the court, but his teammates have struggled to bring the same level of consistency. In fact, James' triple-double effort, led by a game-high 42 points, wasn't enough to help lift his team to a win in Game 2 on Tuesday night.

Things could ramp up in a hurry with the series shifting over to Quicken Loans Arena for Games 3 and 4, where the Cavaliers could easily get back into it. There are also a few days off ahead of Game 3 on Saturday night, which could help Cleveland recalibrate to devise a better game-plan on both ends of the floor as they attempt to counter-punch and possibly even the series.

This will undoubtedly see James lead the charge offensively, doing whatever it takes to help lift his team to much-needed wins over the next two games to keep their NBA Finals hopes alive. Ultimately, the ball appears to be in the Celtics' court to get the job done against the 3-time defending Eastern Conference champions.
