Since being traded to the Boston Celtics, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has continued to answer questions about his decision to want to move on from his situation with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Ahead of the season-opener matchup against his former team, Irving made it clear that there was not one thing that pushed him to want to play elsewhere, according to Chris Fedor of Cleveland.com.

“I kind of want to put that to rest in terms of everyone figuring out or trying to continue to dive into a narrative they have no idea about and probably will never, ever be divulged because it's not important,” Irving said. “This was literally just a decision I wanted to make solely based on my happiness and pushing my career forward. I don't want to pinpoint anything, I will never pinpoint anything because that's not what real grown-ups do. They continue to move on with their life and continue to progress and that's what I'm going to continue to do.”

There has been much speculation as to why Irving finally decided that he wanted out by requesting for a trade over the offseason. However, this will continue to remain a topic of discussion throughout the season that he will have to repeatedly address given the nature of how things unfolded and the fact that it in some sort of fashion involves LeBron James.

It was a situation that had plenty of variables in play, but the gist of the constant questioning simply comes from the fact that it's difficult for many to comprehend that he wanted to leave a team that was coming off three consecutive NBA Finals appearances.
That said, it's something that he will receive questions about moving forward in his NBA career. Keep in mind, Kevin Durant was still dealing with questions about why he left the Oklahoma City Thunder during the 2017 NBA Finals.
