In his first year with the Boston Celtics, All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving has quickly led his team off to an impressive start to the season holding the top record in the Eastern Conference at 7-2 behind a current seven-game win streak.
This was capped on Friday with a comeback win on the road over the Oklahoma City Thunder in a 101-94 victory after erasing an 18-point deficit. Following the game, Irving voiced that he has been quite encouraged by how the Celtics' offensive system has worked this season.
"Our system works," Kyrie Irving says with confidence. "It has yet to fail us."

Irving has stepped in without a hitch to become the leading scorer for Boston averaging 22.1 points per game while recording at least 20 points in all but once through the first nine games. The 25-year-old was particularly huge in the win over the Thunder scoring 22 of his team-high 25 points in the second half.
That said, what has also helped fuel the Celtics' early-season success has been the emergence of both second-year guard Jaylen Brown, and rookie forward Jayson Tatum in place of Gordon Hayward, who suffered a season-ending broken leg five minutes into the season opener. Meanwhile, former All-Star big man Al Horford has looked more comfortable in his second year in Boston currently averaging a near double-double with 14.7 points and a team-best 9.0 rebounds per contest.
Given how the Cleveland Cavaliers have stumbled out of the gate this season, the Celtics could still emerge as a serious threat to come out of the Eastern Conference despite the loss of Hayward.
