According to a TMZ Sports report, Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers‘ front office following a conversation with Justin Bieber‘s pastor, Carl Lentz of Hillsong Church.

The three were spotted playing pop-a-shot at a Los Angeles' Dave & Buster's only over a week ago, and while Lentz didn't exactly advise the 25-year-old to leave Cleveland, he told him to make whatever decision he was most comfortable with.

News about Irving requesting this trade went public after ESPN's Brian Windhorst report on Friday afternoon — reportedly more than a week after the request had taken place.

The Duke standout gave the front office four potential destinations — San Antonio, New York, Miami, and Minnesota.

While the organization isn't obligated to honor his request, given that he is still under contract for at least two more seasons, the Timberwolves and the Phoenix Suns hold the best chances to net his services at some point in this offseason.

Irving's choice to leave the side of LeBron James had been reportedly one he had considered since winning his first NBA championship in 2016, but ultimately moved past the opportunity, playing the entire season with no signs of any rupture or discontent with James.

James has felt blindsided and reportedly angry at the reports that have made him look like he's not a player a star might want to play with.
