After the Virginia Cavaliers took down the Texas Tech Red Raiders to win the national championship, FOX Sports personality Skip Bayless saw an opportunity to take a shot at the NBA's own Cavs, the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bayless, who was never a fan of former Cavs star LeBron James, praised Virginia for the win. However, he did so while criticizing Cleveland and suggesting that the 2016 NBA champions only got their title because Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green got suspended.

To remember, the Wine and Gold became the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-1 series deficit in the Finals and win the Larry O'Brien Trophy. However, many fans argue that it wouldn't have been possible if Green was not suspended in Game 5 of the series.

Green, unarguably the Warriors' best defender, was assessed with his fourth flagrant foul in Game 4 of the Finals series. He was eventually suspended for the following game.

The Cavs then roared back in Game 5 and, with the momentum on their side, won the next two games to complete the turnaround.

Sure enough, Green's suspension is one of the biggest “what ifs” in NBA history. Skip Bayless has every right to doubt the Cavs win that time, but all he can do is suspect.

As for Virginia's win over Texas Tech, at least Skip is supporting a team that has the “Cavaliers” as its moniker.
