Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green took part on LeBron James' new HBO show The Shop and shed some light on how his four-time NBA Finals foe really “found himself” throughout his last stint with the Cleveland Cavs.

James had played a rather close-to-the-vest approach since the backlash that came with his decision to play with the Miami Heat, battling between being the hero or the heel after his loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the 2011 NBA Finals.

Yet his homecoming four years later would bring forward this opportunity to get ahead and announce his arrival loud and clear.

Maverick Carter: “Can LeBron ever come out and say, ‘I'm the best basketball player playing?'.
Draymond Green: “I think you should say that. I think you should believe that. And you should definitely let the world know that. I think Bron over the last four years became LeBron James. And it wasn't nothing to do with winning and it wasn't nothing to do with stats. He found himself.
“People didn't start to view him as they view him now, until he became that force, that man to say, ‘I'm here.' I feel like for years, he shied away from saying ‘I'm here'. And when he started to say, ‘F*** y'all, I'm here.' That's when he became who he is, and no one would have ever said that until he did it himself.”
“Motherf***ers f***ed with Mike because Mike was like, ‘I'm Mike with my hoop earring. F*** all y'all, I'm here.' And until he did that, that's when he became the figurehead that he is. So many people shy away from that and that's why they never reach their full potential.”

James consolidated that attitude by bringing a championship to the Cavs in 2016 and could be bound to do the same over his four years with the Los Angeles Lakers, but not if Green has something to say about it.
