Dallas Mavericks fans are still not over general manager Nico Harrison trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, and it seems like they won't be getting over it anytime soon. As of now, people around the organization are trying to defuse “Fire Nico” chants and the protests, and one of those people is former Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

In the Mavericks' recent game against the Sacramento Kings, a video was taken of Cuban standing up out of his seat, turning around, and telling fans to “Sit the f— down” as they were chanting “Fire Nico.” Cuban didn't seem to be a fan of the trade either, and it was rumored that he tried to stop Harrison from making the deal, according to Marc Stein.

Many Mavericks fans have not taken lightly to the fact that the organization traded away their franchise player who was just 25 years old and that they traded him to the Lakers of all teams.

Though the Mavericks received Anthony Davis and Max Christie in return, that band-aid can't cover up the scar that Harrison created when making the deal.

There have been rumors that the Mavericks weren't fond of Doncic's conditioning, especially with the constant injuries that he's had. Regardless of the injuries, Doncic has been able to play through most of them, and he led the Mavericks to the NBA Finals last season despite several injuries. Another reason for trading Doncic was him being due for a supermax contract in the coming years, but the Mavericks were uncertain if he would re-sign with the team.

In a few years, Harrison will either be looked at as the general manager who made the biggest bet of his career, and it worked out, or he'll be looked at as someone who made a terrible mistake and set the franchise back for many years to come.
