The Dallas Mavericks moved one step closer to filling out their roster on Monday after signing rookie Josh Reaves to a two-way contract.
Callie Caplan of the Dallas Morning News broke the signing via Twitter:

Reaves spent all four years of his college career at Penn State. The guard improved every year he played and ended up averaging 10.6 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.5 steals per game his senior season. He shot 48 percent from the floor and 35 percent from three in his final college season.

With a little work on his jump shot, Reaves could make a name for himself in the NBA as a reliable role player. The 6'5 wing has improved his 3-point shot each year, going from shooting seven percent as a freshman to becoming a consistent threat.
As his steal average shows, Reaves is an athletic defender who is good at reading passing lanes. In his time at Penn State, Reaves showed he has enough lateral quickness to stay with smaller players, but might need to put on a little more weight to guard bigger forwards in the post.
We'll see if Reaves can make a contribution to a growing Mavericks team this year.
