Dallas Mavericks forward and future Hall of Famer Dirk Nowitzki hasn't decided yet if he will retire this season, but fans are already wondering what's next for the Mavs legend.

One of the possibilities for Dirk Nowitzki is to become an NBA coach after he decides to call it a career, and he got a first-hand experience of what the job is like when he called the shots for Team World in the Rising Stars Challenge last night.

In an interview with Dwain Price of Mavs.com's, Nowitzki said that although he enjoyed coaching the youngsters, he doesn't see himself coaching any time soon .

“I enjoyed being with the young guys, but it’s actually a lot harder than it looks. Obviously I could draw up a couple of plays, and you draw a blank, and who’s in the game and who’s going where on that play, so it’s a lot harder than it looks. I give the coaches a lot of credit – it’s not an easy job.

“To handle all the crazy personalities, the characters on your team, to know the situations during the game, what’s the score, what’s the shot clock. It’s a lot happening during the game, and that was only a fun game, so for me it was a little overwhelming. I don’t think I’m going to be a coach any time soon, but it was a good experience.”

Although the Mavs icon didn't completely shut the door on the possibility of him becoming the coach in the future, it's also not something that he will immediately get himself involved after retirement.

For now, let us enjoy Nowitzki's swan song, including his participation in the All-Star festivities this weekend.
