The Dallas Mavericks put up an impressive fight against the Utah Jazz in Game 1 of their Western Conference playoff series. In the end, Utah still won the game. However, they only defeated the Mavericks 99-93 even with Dallas playing without Luka Doncic. One has to imagine that the Mavericks would have been in the driver's seat had Doncic been on the floor. So fans will certainly want to know if Doncic is going to be available for Monday night's Game 2.

Is Luka Doncic playing in Game 2?

Mavericks' coach Jason Kidd said that Luka Doncic is doubtful for Game 2 on Monday morning, per Marc Stein. Doncic was ruled out rather early for Game 1, so the fact that he is still listed as doubtful can provide a bit of hope for Mavs fans moving forward. Dallas would love nothing more than to get Luka in the lineup, but his health is the number one priority.

Dallas's defense held strong in Game 1. They limited Utah to under 100 points and center Rudy Gobert to just five points in the game. But they were unable to get much of anything going on offense. The Mavericks shot a very underwhelming 38.2 percent from the field and and 28.1 percent from beyond the arc.

Jalen Brunson scored 24 points to set the tone while Spencer Dinwiddie added 22. But their combined efforts were not enough to push Dallas over the hump. The Mavericks will need to find the bottom of the net with far more efficiency if they want to upset the Jazz without Luka Doncic on the floor.

For now, Mavericks fans are hoping that Luka can overcome his doubtful status and sneak his way into the lineup.
