The Dallas Mavericks have been… okay this season. They sit at seventh in the Western Conference with a 13 – 13 record, which means they aren't doing bad, per se. However, given the talent they have in Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, it's fair to say that this team could be some much more than a .500 team.

The key to unlocking the Mavs' full potential might be in a young gem buried under the rotation. According to head coach Jason Kidd, a young center by the name of Moses Brown can greatly help the team win more games. Here's what he had to say about Brown. (via Bally Sports Southwest)

“[Moses Brown] deserves more minutes. The more minutes he gets, the better he gets. He earns them. He works hard and now that he is settling into his routine, you're starting to see the results of that.”

Moses Brown was a little-known prospect out of UCLA who went undrafted in 2019. The 7-foot-2 third-year center was traded to the Mavs as part of the deal that sent Al Horford back to the Boston Celtics. He has only played in 11 games so far in the season, playing just 5.1 minutes per contest.

However, that could likely change after Brown's performance for the Mavs against his old team, the Oklahoma City Thunder. In twenty minutes, Brown put up 15 points on 5-of-6 shooting along with six rebounds and two blocks. With the Mavs needed some more depth in their frontcourt, we could see Brown play more minutes for the struggling Dallas team.

They'll likely need more help, too. The Mavs are expecting Luka Doncic to be out for a significant amount of time, and all of the remaining Mavs players need to step up big time.
